1. Introduction
Aris ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Aris Tech LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Aris desktop application, mobile application (iOS), and related services at youraris.com.
2. Local-First Architecture
Aris is designed with a local-first architecture. The Aris application runs on your computer or mobile device. Your files, project data, and workspace content remain on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
When you send a message, Aris routes the AI request through our cloud relay at youraris.com for authentication and billing purposes. The AI response is returned to your local application. We do not store the content of your messages or AI responses on our servers.
On the Aris mobile application (iOS), your conversations and data are stored locally on your device using SQLite. Voice conversations are processed in real-time through xAI and are not recorded or stored on our servers. Transcripts of voice conversations are saved locally on your device.
3. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We use this to authenticate you and manage your subscription.
Usage & Billing Data: We track token usage (input/output token counts per request) for billing purposes. We record the model used, the cost of each request, and your account balance. We do not store the content of your prompts or responses.
Microphone Access (Mobile): The Aris mobile app requests microphone access for voice conversations. Audio is streamed directly to xAI's real-time API for processing and is not stored on our servers. Microphone access is only used during active voice sessions.
Third-Party Integrations: If you connect integrations such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Telegram, or other services, authentication tokens for those services are stored securely on our cloud server. We access these services only on your behalf and only when you initiate actions through Aris.
CRM & Service Credentials: For vertical integrations (e.g., Follow Up Boss, Dotloop), your API keys and credentials are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your third-party service credentials.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your account and manage access
- Process billing and track token usage
- Route AI requests to the appropriate model providers
- Deliver integrations you have authorized (Gmail, Calendar, etc.)
- Provide technical support
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
The Aris mobile app offers a monthly subscription managed through Apple's App Store. Subscription billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple. You can manage your subscription in your device's Settings under Subscriptions.
Credit purchases for AI usage are processed through Stripe on our website (youraris.com). We do not store your payment card information — all payment processing is handled by Apple and Stripe respectively.
6. AI Model Providers
When you use Aris, your messages are processed by third-party AI model providers including Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, xAI (Grok), and Groq. These requests are made through our API keys on your behalf. Each provider has their own privacy and data retention policies. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies:

Voice conversations on the mobile app are processed by the xAI Realtime API. Audio is streamed in real-time and is not recorded or stored by Aris beyond the duration of the session.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. All communication between the Aris application and our cloud services is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. API keys and tokens are stored securely and are never exposed in client-side code.
8. Data Retention
Your local data (chat history, project files, workspace content) is stored on your device and persists until you delete it. Account information and billing records are retained on our servers for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Disconnect any third-party integrations at any time
10. Children's Privacy
Aris is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
